Q: What versions of VMware vSphere does JetStream DR support?

JetStream DR can be used to protect environments running VMware vSphere versions 7 & 8.

Q: What datastore types can JetStream DR protect?

JetStream DR can protect VMs running on any VMware-compatible datastore type, including SAN, NAS, Virtual Volumes (VVOLs), Virtual SAN (vSAN) and third-party HCI platforms including Nutanix, Cisco HyperFlex, etc.

Q: Does JetStream DR for AVS require Azure Blob Storage?

When used with AVS, Azure Blob Storage is used for storing VMs and data. Azure NetApp Files is recommended for mission critical workloads to enable near zero recovery time.

Q: Does the AVS-JetStream combination require that a customer have a cluster continuously provisioned in AVS, or can the recovery systems be provisioned at the time that failover is initiated?

To facilitate cluster configuration and minimize the Recovery Time Objective (RTO), customers are advised to provision a minimal “pilot light” cluster in AVS. Nodes can be added to the cluster during failover as needed.

Q: How will I be charged?

Charges for JetStream DR for AVS are based on the number of JetStream DR licenses active or VMs being protected per day.

Q: How will I be billed?

Billing occurs on a monthly basis and will be charged to your Azure account at the end of each calendar month.
